Broadcast Media & Film Program Advisory COUNCIL

Blair is the Director of Communications for South Bend Schools with a background in education journalism and public-sector communications. He spent nearly a decade covering education and local government as a reporter.

Caroline is an award-winning investigative reporter and anchor at WNDU’s 16 News Now. She was honored with the 2024 First Place Award for Investigative Reporting by the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists. 

Ed is a retired Multimedia Journalist from WSBT with 40 years experience in news gathering. He has a M.A. in Radio, Film & Television from San Diego State.

 Brenda is a Senior Producer at WNIT Public Television with over 25 years of  experience in television and radio production. She has a B.A. in Radio  & Television from Manchester University and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College. 

George is the Director of Communications and Engagement with the South Bend Clinic. He has a B.A. in Media Communication from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Alex is an Emmy Award-winning photojourmalist and reporter for WTHR-TV in Indianapolis.  He is also an award-winning journalist and alumnus of SBS-TV/WETL. He graduated from Ball State with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Donnie is co-owner of Grass Roots Media, an Emmy Award-winning company with over 25 years of experience in video production. 

Andrea is co-owner of Grass Roots Media, an Emmy Award-winning company with over 25 years of experience in video production.

Since 2003, Kiran has held the Guinness World Record as the "shortest professional stuntman currently working in film." His many film credits include Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Dark Crystal, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He lives in London.

Stephen is a Hollywood screenwriter, producer, and director. He is best known for  writing horror films such as The Grudge, The Grudge 2, and Texas Chainsaw 3D. His directorial debut was Unfriended: Dark Web.

 Erika is a journalist who has worked in radio,  print, and TV since 1992. She has two Emmys, a Telly, and several AP Awards. She has worked for every major news network affiliate including ABC,  NBC, CBS, CNN and PBS.  

Alex is an award-winning alumnus of our program.  In 2025 he won 2nd Place TV News Anchor and Field Reporter through the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters. He is currently pursuing a degree in journalism at IU South Bend.

Don is Chief Photojournalist and News Operations Manager at WNDU-TV with nearly three decades of experience in broadcast photojournalism. He holds a B.S. in Mass Communication from Illinois State University. 

 DeAndre is a photojournalist for WSBT and alumnus of SBS-TV/WETL. He received an A.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Vincennes University and a B.A. from IU South Bend in Communication Studies with a concentration in journalism.

 Matt is a Digital Meteorologist, providing hyper-local weather information to more than 140,000+ regional followers on social media and on his own weather app. He spent over a decade working in local television news before focusing on digital-only platforms. He has a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from Purdue University. 

Scott is Senior Director of Notre Dame Studios and oversees the Rex and Alice A. Martin Media Center. A University of Alabama graduate, he previously led technology initiatives at NASCAR Media Group and PGA TOUR Productions and has earned multiple awards for media innovation.

Kathryn is a theater teacher at Penn High School. She has experience with acting on stage and screen, and is a professional improv actor and special effects makeup artist. She holds an MFA in Theater from the University of Idaho.

 You can catch Big Perm on U93 in South Bend.  He is the Television Representative for the station and is  actively involved in helping the community for over 8 years. He is the winner of  South Benders "Best Media Personality"  and Gold Medal Winner of Leader Publications "Best Radio Personality".

Cory is the Enrollment Manager for Paramount Schools of Excellence. He holds a Masters in Communication Studies Indiana University South Bend.

 David is an award-winning alumnus of SBS-TV/WETL where he served as our Sports Director. He graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in Communication Studies with a focus on Public Relations at Indiana University South Bend. He is currently pursing a Masters in Public affairs.

Steve is the owner of Midwest Photographics, with over 30 years experience in shooting documentaries, weddings, music videos and other events.

Matthew is a graduate from IUPUI with a Bachelors in New Media Arts and Science with a focus on Audio Engineering and Video Production. He has worked on many media productions in the region. 

Mason is a full-time TMP/Director for WNDU. He is an award-winning student journalist and alumnus of SBS-TV/WETL. He is pursuing a degree in  journalism at Indiana University South Bend.

Jacob is the Marketing Content Manager at Forest River Inc. and FAA Part 107 Certified UAS (drone) Pilot. His skills are in photography and videography. He is a long-time mentor with our media program.

 Cooper was our SBS-TV Sports Director and attends the University of Notre Dame pursuing a degree in Film, Television, and Theater. He is an award-winning student journalist and serves as the Public Address Announcer for Notre Dame Swimming and a Sports Analyst for ND-TV. 

Chris is the Assistant General Manager for Marketing & Media at South Bend Cubs, a High-A Affiliate of the South Bend Cubs.

 Michael is an award-winning author, producer, screenwriter, actor and director. He has taught Screenwriting, English and Public Speaking at Indiana University South Bend. He currently teaches I.T. CTE courses at Riley High School.  

Fábio is a self-taught filmmaker and photographer and owner of FACS Studios. He's the founder and director of the Ocean Coast Film Festival in Lavra, Portugal. 

 Tim is the Digital Content Producer at ABC57 News in South Bend. He's also an independent filmmaker with an Associate's Degree in Film and Broadcasting with a focus on Screenwriting from Tribeca Flashpoint  Academy. He has made two feature films, Beware of The Klowns and Princess Spooky: An Industrial Fantasy.
